About SettingScout

What this is

SettingScout is a free lab that takes strategy scripts published on TradingView, recomputes their settings every night on past BTC, ETH, SOL and XRP data, and publishes the results. You can see which setting produced what result on which coin and timeframe, laid out as a grid (heatmap).

What we do

  • Every night we recompute 40 strategies and roughly 50,000 setting combinations (grid cells) over the most recent 90 days.
  • Every result includes a 0.11% fee per trade.
  • We publish the whole grid with nothing hidden. Strong cells and weak cells alike.
  • We post a weekly report and per-indicator articles on this blog. The numbers in each post are copied straight from the server's calculations.

What we don't do

  • We don't send trading signals.
  • We don't promise returns.
  • We don't charge users. The grid, reports and Telegram watch are all free at the moment.

Why it's free

We think everyone should be able to look at the same numbers and decide for themselves. Running costs are covered by advertising.

This Week's Most Improved TradingView Strategies: Top 5 (1h)

We recomputed 50,144 setting combinations of the strategy scripts on BTC, ETH, SOL and XRP across 15m to 4h, over the past 90 days with the 0.11% fee per trade included, and compared each script with 2026-09-30 (7 days earlier). Strategies that improved BEST Supertrend Strategy: 60% → 64% of settings positive (+4 points) Bollinger + RSI, Double Strategy (by ChartArt) v1.1: 39% → 40% of settings positive (+1 points) EMA Slope + EMA Cross Strategy (by ChartArt): 13% → 14% of settings positive (+1 points) Bollinger + RSI, Double Strategy Long-Only (by ChartArt) v1.2: 71% → 72% of settings positive (+1 points) Common thread: 1h Across the scripts that improved, the share of positive settings changed like this by timeframe. 15m: 48% → 48%. 30m: 64% → 67%. 1h: 73% → 77%. 4h: 32% → 34%. BB Best Settings for 4h: Default vs Top Settings Backtested (Fees Included)

BB (Bollinger Bands) behaved very differently by timeframe. Over the past 90 days, 90% of setting combinations finished positive after fees on 4h, but only 11% did on 15m. We ran all 1,400 setting combinations on 10 coins (BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, BNB, DOGE, ADA, LINK, SUI and HYPE) across 15m, 30m, 1h and 4h, with a 0.11% fee taken out of every trade. The figures in this post are as of 2026-10-17, and every result is recomputed nightly with fresh data. What does BB actually measure? Bollinger Bands (BB) are a volatility tool developed by John Bollinger. The middle line is a simple moving average of the close, and the upper and lower bands sit a multiple of the standard deviation of the close above and below it. TradingView's defaults are a length of 20 and a multiplier of 2. The bands widen when volatility rises and tighten when the market calms down.
